Job Description:
Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Benefits, this
position will support the intake and consult with faculty and staff
for leave of absences and medical accommodations. This position
will ensure offers of leaves of absences and reasonable
accommodations are handled within compliance guidelines, LMU
policies and procedures and are documented appropriately. This
position will support managing and processing the leaves of
absence, determining FMLA eligibility and sending out applicable
correspondence regarding the status of leave of absence requests
including absence management and data entry into HRIS (Workday).
This position will also support general benefit administration of
employee programs to review, audit, analyze and troubleshoot
issues. Job Description Position Specific Accountabilities 1.
Collaborate closely with HR Team members to ensure leave management
services in the area of protected leaves of absence (LOA) under
state and federal leave laws, including the federal Family &
Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Pregnancy
Disability Leave, USERRA and University policy. Manage and process
leaves of absence, determining FMLA eligibility and send out
applicable correspondence regarding the status of leave of absence
requests. Also manage ADA/FEHA requests for accommodations and
coordinate the interactive process to determine reasonable
accommodations. Confirm all absence entries in HRIS/Workday. 2.
Work closely with Payroll team to ensure all necessary information
and documentation is provided during leaves. 3. Support the
Director of Benefits with ACA tracking and compliance. Perform
audit to ensure timely annual submission of 1095-c/ 1094-c. May
need to troubleshoot individual scenarios. 4. Will monitor and
audit part-time benefit eligibility group. 5. As needed will
provide backup to support the day-to-day administration of employee
benefits programs, including group medical, dental, vision, life,
AD&D, long term disability, Employee Assistance Program, Health
Savings Account, Health Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending
Accounts, voluntary/supplemental benefits. 6. Will support the
efforts to process (FSA/DFSA) forfeitures and unclaimed check
deposits. 7. Provide support and troubleshot integration carriers
file discrepancies as needed. Serve as a liaison between LMU ITS,
HRIS team and the carriers. May support creation of new benefit
integrations. 8. Research employee benefit claims as needed to help
resolve differences between carrier and medical provider. 9.
Provide Tier 1 Benefit support and customer service to the LMU
community for Benefit issues. Monitor help desk tickets and respond
in a timely manner. May provide one-on-one training sessions as
appropriate. Will escalate issues as needed. 10. Lead and
orchestrate benefits Open Enrollment events including but not
limited to benefits website content updates, communications, plan
document updates, utilization meetings, benefits fair and test
scenarios in Workday. 11. Ensure active, COBRA and Retiree plan
rates are accurate for each plan year. May perform periodic audits
to confirm accuracy. 12. Perform regular self-audits to ensure
accuracy and data integrity related to LOA, Reasonable
Accommodations and benefit programs. 13. Stay informed about
industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to
employee benefits, and make recommendations for program
enhancements as needed. 14. Conduct New Hire Orientation on a
rotating basis. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Loyola

Qualifications --- Typically a Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration, Communications, Organizational Development or
related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected
to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to
keep abreast of benefit regulation/policy changes. --- Minimum 5
years of benefits administration experience and experience
executing programs and support services in the field of FMLA/ADA
state leave requirements. --- Demonstrated knowledge in the areas
of current benefits 'best practices,' benefit billing, employee
benefit laws, compliance, benefit analysis, leaves of absence and
accommodations, and general human resources policy and procedure.
--- Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing
benefits administration, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
--- Ability to perform mathematical calculations in computing
benefit rates, insurance premiums and adjustments. --- Excellent
communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by
experience in preparing reports and other business communications.
--- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred. --- Ability to
manage multiple conflicting priorities. --- Highly developed
organizational and analytical skills. --- Demonstrated computer
competency and preferably knowledgeable of HRIS systems. The above
